Day Eighty Through Eighty Five

March 26th

Gammy and Poppy took Lincoln to the mall to watch the Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby. Later we let Lincoln drive a car of his own.  He kind of looks like his mommy when we gave her the keys to drive for the first time.

I took this shot for Boo Boo because she loves Elmo..
March 25th

Bird, bird, bird, bird is the word!!!!  These birds are mad at us because we have blocked them from getting into the house.  I am not sure who is going to win this battle.  More updates will follow
March 24th  Our neighbor daffodils after the storm.  The flowers nor us can not get a break from the weather.
March 23rd   Can you guess what this is????
This is the rain hitting our screened window.  After temperature reaching 70 degrees a major storm with high winds and hail went through the area.

March 22nd
The story begins like this.  I am upstairs and I hear a noise in the spare bedroom.  A bird has come through the attic into the bedroom.  Barley and I run down stairs as Trixie (our cat) tries to catch the bird.  She has only ever caught worms and Katy Did's before this.  She chases the bird downstairs and behind our TV.  At this point Barley and I run outside waiting for Jeff to get home.  (Thank goodness it was warm outside)  After Jeff checks the house he goes outside to block the birds from getting into the house.  The whole time he is on the ladder these birds are watching him.  They are not to happy with us but that's what they get for getting into the house.

March 21st
One of our OSO Good onions taking a life of its own.  Kind of scary if you ask me.

Day Seventy Five Through Seventy Nine

March 20th

Three old high school buddies still trying to fix things.  Chuck is doing the supervising, Tim (Lurp as we call him) doing all the dirty work and Jeff doing the grunt work as he is told to do by Lurp.  Believe it or not they got that old rototiller running.

March 19th
The super moon.  When it came out that night it lit up the whole sky.  Absolutely amazing.

March 18th   For some of my family members take a good look at this place and see if you can figure it out.

Why is it when you are younger things seem so much bigger.  I can remember thinking this path was so long and so steep.  Not so much now.

When watching people jump off this rock I use to think how high it was.  Now I am trying to figure out how they did not kill themselves when they jumped off.  Oh to be young again.

If you have not figured it out yet this is Audra State Park.  I have fond memories of this place.  This is where I first learned how to swim.  My children use to love to go there as well.  The water was always cold but a fun place to go

 .

March 17th

Jeff and I getting ready for the WVU basketball game and also celebrating St.Patricks day.  Jeff put the timer on 3 seconds and he almost didn't make it in the picture.  (getting slow in his old age).  Actually he was in a hurry the game was on.

March 16th  oops no picture.  Not sure how that happened

Day Sixty Six Through Seventy Four

March 15th

Our little park in Stonewood.  This slide has been at the park since I was little.  I can remember sliding on it for hours.  We would use wax paper to make it really slick.  But you had to remember if the sun was shining on it the slide would be very hot. When my kids were little they kept me very busy running from the back (to help them up) then run to the front to catch them.  Those were the days.

The swing set.  On a warm day you can hear the swings as they squeak back and forth.  For some reason I love to hear that sound.  Not the same swings that I swung on but the stands are the same.  They don't build them like that anymore.

 March 14th

The Quiet Dell school.  I believe that this school closed for all the grades but kindergarten somewhere around 1970.  I was in the third grade when all the kids from Quiet Dell had to go to Norwood.  We made lots of new friends.  The last year that it was open was when Tiffany was in kindergarten in 1985-86.  Today it is used for WV crafts.
 March 13th

My wonderful husband making his first loaf of bread.  He comes up with the strangest but fun ideas.  If you notice his apron matches his oven mitt!!! Always thinking about fashion.
 March 12th

You never know what is under something until it is moved.  This lovely spring flowers were growing in a empty lot where a trailer once sat.  I thought they were lovely
 March 11th

Our compost pile for our garden in the spring.  May not look very pretty but it is making some beautiful dirt.
 March 10th

A dinosaur in the yard.....no our next door neighbor had their granddaughter in from Mississippi and she had never seen snow.  It snowed one day long enough for them to help her make a snowman.  This was what was left of him after 5 days.  I can't believe it lasted that long.
 March 9th

I hear dove's mate for life.  This one has been hanging around the house for a while now (keep trying to get closer but it will not let me)  Kind of makes you appreciate that someone special in your life.
March 8th

Our friend Anne or "J" as Jeff calls her.  She just wanted her picture taken.......
 March 7th

Our Monday night knitting class.  Our teacher Theresa.  She has lots of patience with us.  What a great way to spend a couple of hours one night a week.  Tiffany has been working on this blanket since last year.  I will let you know when she finishes it.

Day Fifty Nine Through Sixty Five

March 6th         Lincoln and Lawson hanging out at Gammy and Poppy's.

March 5th      Senior day at WVU.  Sad to see them all go.

March 4th      While walking the trail at the VA  I noticed that there were a couple of trees that still had their leaves on.  I want to continue watching the trees  to see what happens when the new leaves come on.

March 3rd

Our lilac tree is getting ready to bud.   Hard shot to get had to have some help from Jeff

March 2nd

You never know what you will see in the neighborhood.  I told them they needed to get a room.  I am sure it won't be long and we will have little kittens running around loose.
March 1st
I did not even now we had a dam by the trail.  I am learning more and more.

February 28th              It does not look like the rain is paying attention to the no trespassing sign
