Day Twenty Two through Day Twenty Eight

January 22nd

Today we were really bored and decided to tear down part of our wall in the spare bedroom.  We are going to expand the closet area in the room.  Jeff and I love to destruct but we are slow to construct.  I will keep you posted as we continue to build the closet.

January 23rd  Took a screen shot of the Steelers vs the Jets.  Way to go Steelers!

January 24th
We spotted this huge icicle on our neighbors cable.  Took us awhile to figure out how it got there.  It formed on the wire close to the gutter and then came sliding down once it starting warming up.

January 25th

Jeff taking care of one of his package plants.  He (we) have had this business for over twenty years and as of March 2011 he has decided to close the business.  Kind of sad because it tooks us on many long drives and to many different places.  Hours and hours of time in the truck laughing and talking about anything and everything.  Great memories!

January 26th.
We had another huge snowstorm.  We had some of the biggest snowflakes I have ever seen.  At times it looked like it was snowing cotton balls.

It was some of the wettest snow too.   After we shoveled the neighbors driveway and anothers sidewalk I decided to build a snowman in honor of the West Virginia vs Louisville game.  I think they could have used him on the court.

January 27th

Look real  close and  tell me what you see

Our lovely cat Trixie.  Seems like tho older she gets the more things she gets into.

January 28th

I knitted this cowl (it goes around your neck) from baby alpaca wool. It is so soft. I just love it

Day Twenty First

January 21st

I had an eye appointment in Philippi today and guess what it snowed six inches the night before.  My wonderful husband says no problem we will drive slow.  After a grueling 45 minutes on the road we finally made our destination.  But while we were there we decided we would take a picture of the covered bridge.  Not one of my favorite pics but because of all the snow we could not get any closer.
January 20th

Okay my husband has been after me for six months to take me and buy or design a one of a kind purse.  These purses are made my Gina Shields ( a neighborhood friend of the family)  I was a little scared and not sure this is what I wanted to do. Once in the store I was taken aback my the ideas and variety to choose from.  Although I think Jeff wanted me to design my own I fell in love with this purse as soon as I walked in the door.  I have never been so apprecitive of such a gift and who is to stay that I will not design my own the  next time.   My husband might have created a monster.  But I love my purse

January 19th

I had the pleasure of keeping my little guy Lawson for a little while in the afternoon.  He is just learning how to coo and talk. I just love it
 January 19th

In the evening I had the pleasure of keeping Lincoln while Lawson went to a doctors apppointment.  Take note Uncle Troy he is playing with your matchbox cars and your garage and loves every minute of it.  He even knows that it belong to Uncle Troy when he was little.  WOW   what great memories that brings.

January 18th  My pool it is so ugly in the winter.  I can't wait for summer

January 17th  Dinner at the Lawrence household.   I love shrimp

January 16th

Day Fifteen

January 15th

It started warming up a little bit so we decided to take a Saturday afternoon hike.  I have to admit I was not looking forward to going but once I got moving I had a wonderful time.  I am so glad I went the woods look very different when covered with snow.

Our two little snowmen. So much fun to build

This looked like a snake going through the trees

My favorite hiking buddy

Day Fourteen

January 14th

I found this bird nest in our tree and it looks like it is holding a snowball.

Day Thirteen

January 13th

The weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful.
I love to have the fire when it is cold and snowy outside.

January 12th  It is so cold out that even some of the horses had to put sweaters on.

Day Eleven

January 11th

A beautiful view of our street after the storm

Day Ten

January 10th

I really have to get out more often.

Day Nine

January 9th

Only a week into this project and already it is getting hard.  I really need to use my creative side and come up with some ideas.  But for now this is all I have.  Shows how boring I am.

Day Seven and Day Eight

January 7th

Trixe our 12 year old cat.  She still acts like a kitten.  She loves to get inside of anything that she can.  We left a paper bag on the table and before long she climbed inside.

January 8th

She loves to sit beside the statue on the stairs.

Day Six

January 6th

Norwood Grade School.  This school not only use to be the grade school but also the junior high.  I can remember as a child walking through the halls it all seemed so big.  When you were in grade school you could not wait to be in junior high so you could use the front steps (which are now gone) and walk up to the third floor.  Great memories.  If only those halls could talk.

Day Five

January 5th

The neighborhood gardeners. There is always work to be done in the garden no matter what time of year.

Day Four

January 4th

My faithful companion Barley.  He keeps me going each and every day.  Even when I don't feel like moving he gives me that sad face and a little whine and before I know it off we go on our daily walk. The next thing you know we both are enjoying the day.

Day Three

This is a picutre of the totem pole that my father in law carved.  When he started this he did not know that he was going to have to add so many more family members to the pole.  It shows you how much can change over five years.  He has added one daughter in law, one granddaughter in law, one grandson in law, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The Lawrence family continues to grow.  I hope the totem pole can keep up.

Day One

As the New Year begins I have started to emabark on a journey of taking one picture a day. By doing this I hope to become more aware of the world around me.

Day one -   Jeff taking down the Christmas lights.

Day two -Our own Mr. Sun he shines brightly every day overlooking our back yard
